COMMITTEES EMPIRE STATE POTATO GROWERS INC.
The following committees appointments are made annually by the President
Executive/ Financial Committee: Members include Officers & Executive Director. Responsible/ authorized to make decisions concerning policy and finances of organization when necessary and appropriate due to time constraints or other factors. Gary Mahany, Karl Hofmann, Larry Bowman, Melanie Wickham.
Empire Farm Days: Members include Show Manger, Executive Committee and members @ large. Attend meetings and serve as financial/ policy advisors to show manager. Make recommendations to BOD. Melanie Wickham, Gary Mahany, Karl Hofmann, Larry Bowman, John Williams, John Matthews, Robert Martens.
By-Laws Committee: Bring issues/ do research concerning by-laws to Board as necessary.
Cornell Committee: Ad Hoc Group of growers available to talk and meet with Cornell to discuss issues facing the industry, Cornell potato program directions, and provide input and feedback as needed. Appointed as necessary.
Extension: Cornell University liaison – Walter DeJong.
Grower Education Committee: Work to create and implement an effective grower education/ industry improvement meeting schedule. To be appointed.
Potato Variety Development Fund-Chip Subcommittee: Chris Hansen-Chairman, Gary Mahany, Nate Call, John Meyer; Utz: Jim Fitzgerald, Mitch Keeney, EK Bare: Ragen Horst, Brad Halladay; Gene Herr; Cornell University: Walter DeJong. Fresh Subcommittee: John Williams, Karl Hofmann, Ralph Child, Walter DeJong.
R & D Advisory Committee: Review annual submissions and allocate monies to research projects as administered by the ESPG. Gary Mahany, Karl Hofmann, Andrew Pryputniewicz, George Wulforst, James McCormick.
National Potato Council: Attend national meetings, report back to board on issues, serve as NY representative on National level. Ralph Child, Gary Mahany.
National Potato Promotion Board: Attend national meetings, report back to board on issues, serve as NY representative on National level. Chris Hansen.
Trade: Attend national meetings, report back to board on issues, serve as NY representative on National level. Ralph Child.
Nominating: Facilitate nominations of directors & officers. Karl Hofmann.
Scholarship: Review submissions and award scholarship monies. Report to Board. Andrew Pryputniewicz, Larry Bowman, Chris Hansen, Hank Krazewski.
